Looking down the valley towards Glencairn Beach

A panoramic view across the vlei from Elsies Peak, with Simon's Town in the background.

Looking across the vlei from the Glencairn Heights side.

The great fish rescue at the end of summer 2011.

The Glen Lodge and Pub. Great supporters of Glencairn Vlei.

Picture taken from among the dunes over the bottom pan.

Sunset, looking up the valley from the dune walk

Sunset, looking up the valley from the Wiley memorial marker.

The wooden pedestrian bridge, which overlooks the vlei in front of the Glen Lodge and Pub.

View over the top pan from the wooden walkway at Muddy Corner.

The wooden walkway at Muddy Corner. Before the walkway was built, it was not possible to walk along the Vlei in winter without getting wet feet.

Looking out over the berm. This is a popular fishing spot now. You will see our ducks, Coots and Egyptian Geese here. Sometimes a Heron too.

A relatively recent project was to complete the path all around the vlei. This pathway has now been 'discovered' by more and more people and even joggers use it now!

One of our recent projects was the 'Typha Tunnel' - which does not feature on the map yet. Get up close and personal with the reed dwellers here. It gets a bit wet in winter, but walkways are being improved ...

View of 'Pooh Bear Corner', which is a pretty park like area next to the bridge. There is a bench and a swing to amuse children.

St Andrews Church and Manse, built in 1904, is one of Glencairn's older buildings..

The top bridge over the Else River, which feeds into the vlei.

The 'concrete Goose' sign to the Typha Tunnel.

A nice view over the Top Pan from the Field Path.
